Honorary Senior Appointed High Sheriff of Kent Back to archive

Jane Ashton (pictured below), Honorary Senior and former Chaplain of Benenden School (2002-2012), teacher of RS (1994-2012) and parent of  three Seniors has been appointed as High Sheriff of Kent for the year 2018-2019. 

Jane chose Benenden Church for her Declaration Service on 8 April 2018. The Service was attended by, among others, the Lord Lieutenant of Kent (representing HM The Queen), Supreme Court Justice Lord Reed, the Bishop of Dover, the Bishop and Dean of Rochester, a Resident Judge in Kent, the Chief of Police, the Chairman of Kent County Council; and the Mayor of Tunbridge Wells, as well as many Deputy Lieutenants, past High Sheriffs, other clergy and leaders of the Judiciary in Kent, plus many family, friends and Benenden current and past staff and pupils.

A lunch was held at Benenden School beforehand for over 200 people, and afterwards tea was served in the Atrium of the School’s new Science Building.
