Six Ones explore alternatives to university Back to archive
12th July 2017

Six One students unsure what they want to do after completing their A Levels were able to explore the options available to them as part of an Alternatives to University afternoon at the end of the Summer Term.

Leading business such as Deloitte, Amazon and the National Physics Laboratory were just some of the organisations giving talks to the girls and a group of Year 12 students from The John Wallis Church of England Academy who also attended.

A range of opportunities such as school leavers schemes, fast track high flier programmes and higher apprenticeships were all discussed. Other organisations speaking included Edge Hotel School, The British Army and Quest Professional.

This was the first of a trio of events organised for our Six One students. It was followed by a UCAS and Higher Education Induction Day with presentations from a range of universities and an afternoon workshop into creating an online UCAS account.
