Health and Safety Administrator – Part-Time

Benenden School is an independent boarding school for girls, founded in 1923 and situated in 240 acres of beautiful parkland in rural Kent. At present, there are 540 girls in the School. A considerable amount of new building has been completed in recent years, including a Study Centre (Library and classrooms), Theatre and a state of the art Science Centre. Recently opened is an all-weather pitch, sports pavilion and staff housing.

We are looking to recruit an experienced administrator to join our Facilities & Estates team, all of whom work closely and collaboratively in a busy educational and boarding community. 

The Health and Safety Administrator will be responsible for all aspects of H&S administration in the Facilities Department, providing support to the Health, Safety & Facilities Manager ensuring day to day H&S management systems run proactively and efficiently across the School.

Experience of working in a H&S administration role or similar role or holding or working towards NEBOSH General Certificate or suitable alternative qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

The following skills and experience are essential:

  • Practical experience/knowledge of H&S risk assessments and auditing
  • Experience of maintaining administration and documentation systems
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent IT skills, experience in using Microsoft packages, especially Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Ability to create clear and accurate reports, procedures and guidance documents

This is a part-time all year position. The working hours are 24 hours per week Monday to Friday, the actual days to be worked are flexible but must meet the needs of the business.

Salary will be dependent upon experience, £18,000 to £21,000 per annum pro rata.
