Our recent speakers have included:

May 2018: Amber Rudd MP
Former Home Secretary Amber Rudd MP visited the School and spoke about issues including Jeremy Corbyn, the 2017 general election, Brexit, the role of women in politics and the Home Office’s handling of the Windrush generation.

May 2018: Dr Ben Broadbent
Deputy Governor of the Bank of England, Dr Ben Broadbent, visited and told girls not to worry if they don't have a career plan.

December 2017: Dr David Starkey
Renowned historian Dr David Starkey gave a talk, entitled Henry VIII: The First Brexiteer, which focused on Henry's reign and its parallels with current affairs when he visited the School in December.

October 2017: James Brokenshire
The then Secretary of State for Northern Ireland visited Benenden who gave a talk to the Sixth Form about politics and his career. In a wide-ranging lecture in Benenden’s Theatre, Mr Brokenshire discussed topics including his career, Brexit, the Northern Ireland peace process and security in the UK.

September 2017: Tim Marshall
Respected journalist Tim Marshall, whose 30-year career has included roles as Diplomatic Editor and Foreign Correspondent at Sky News, gave a lecture entitled Prisoners of Geography -  which explored the history of international relations.
